Britain by Choice -
Who We Are
Britain by Choice is owned and operated by Charlie and Marina Newton.
Charlie is a native of Scotland and Marina, a Texan, has spent many
vacations exploring Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland. Charlie graduated
from the Scottish Hotel School and spent twenty years in the Scottish
Hospitality industry. In 1980 he become the first Director of Sales for the
Consort Hotel chain, whose 200 independent hotels are now the Best Western
partner in Britain. He remained at Consort for 12 years, at which time he
moved to Florida for two years then to Texas – “to spread the gospel of
traveling in Britain”.
As well as operating Britain by Choice, Charlie, as North American Vice
President of the Greatdays Travel Group, is responsible for the company’s
American and Canadian business. Based in the North of England, with a
Visitor Welcome Center in London, Greatdays is the largest family owned
Destination Management Company in Britain, servicing the needs of over
200,000 overseas visitors to Britain, and continental Europe, each year.
Britain by Choice clients can therefore rely on the excellent Customer
Services available from Greatdays while they are in Britain.
