The Loch Ness Monster: fact or fiction? Find out on this splendid tour through the glorious Scottish Highlands.

Our journey northwards takes us through Rob Roy MacGregor country to desolate Rannoch Moor. We’ll travel through haunting Glen Coe, the "Glen of Weeping". In 1692, forty of the resident MacDonald clan were massacred in cold blood by the Campbell’s for not forswearing the Jacobite cause.

They say you can still hear their cries! We’ll make a stop at the new eco-friendly Visitor Centre, in the heart of the Glen, where you can enjoy an optional picnic lunch or take a gentle stroll in these awe-inspiring surroundings

Next we travel to Fort William, which sits in the shadow of Ben Nevis. Then enjoy a scenic drive through the Great Glen to Fort Augustus. We will tour the entire length of Loch Ness, stopping to visit Urquhart Castle, for some monster spotting. Could that shadow be the monster?

We'll make a short panoramic tour of Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, before we start our journey southwards. We’ll make a stop in the delightful Victorian resort of Pitlochry before we head for Perth then Edinburgh or Glasgow.
A wonderful day out and maybe, just maybe...

URQUHART CASTLE
Admission included
This magnificent castle dates from the 14th century and was one in a chain of garrisons that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it’s a popular place with “Nessie” hunters; in fact there have been more sightings from the castle than anywhere else! Our tour of the castle includes the fascinating audio-visual presentation that tells its history, as well as plenty of free time to explore the castle for ourselves. Keep a close watch and a camera ready – just in case!
