Our extended stop
here will allow us a leisurely visit to explore
the castle and to marvel at the views from the
castle ramparts.
Our scenic drive continues through the village of
Doune, with its 14`h century castle to Callander,
a pleasant tourist town that became popular in
Victorian times.
The
Trossachs is a wonderful area of lochs and wild
mountain vistas. We travel by Loch Venachar then
climb the dramatic Dukes Pass to the pretty
village of Aberfoyle, where we will make a stop.
We end our tour on a real high note as we drive
along the "bonnie, bonnie banks" and, if
you wish, enjoy an optional cruise on Loch Lomond.
STIRLING
CASTLE
Admission
included
Mighty Stirling Castle is set high on a volcanic
plug and is one of the historic buildings which
has come to symbolise the spirit of Scotland. On
our leisurely visit to the castle we'll have the
chance to see the splendid Renaissance Royal
Palace of King James V and the magnificent Chapel
Royal where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned in
1543. Stirling has many connections with the great
Scottish heroes Sir William Wallace, the real
"Braveheart", and Robert the Bruce.
